Terms and Conditions

Short version: use the Site in good faith, respect our work, and know that what is here is information, not advice.

Agreement

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Work of the Woods LLC, doing business as Expansion Lab ("Expansion Lab," "we," "us"). They govern your use of expansionlab.io (the "Site"). By using the Site you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Our community and courses at community.expansionlab.io are governed by their own terms of service, which you accept at checkout. Coaching, enterprise, and speaking engagements are governed by the written agreement we sign with you. Where those documents and these Terms overlap, the more specific document controls.

Eligibility

The Site and our services are intended for adults. By using the Site you represent that you are at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement.

Our content and trademarks

Everything on the Site, including text, frameworks, images, photographs, audio, video, design, and code, belongs to Expansion Lab or is used with permission, and is protected by United States and international copyright and trademark law. You may view the Site and print or save a reasonable number of pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, create derivative works from, or use any of our content for a commercial purpose, including training or teaching, without our prior written permission. Requests go to hello@expansionlab.io.

EXPANSION LAB is a registered trademark of Work of the Woods LLC. LEADERSHIP LAB is a trademark of Work of the Woods LLC, with registration pending. Our logo, program names, framework names, and slogans are our marks whether or not they carry a symbol. You may not use them without our written permission. Other names and marks on the Site belong to their respective owners.

Testimonials

The client statements on the Site are real, unpaid, and reproduced with permission, edited only for length or typographical errors. They reflect those individuals' experiences and are not a promise of what you will experience.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and not to: interfere with or disrupt the Site or its hosting; use automated tools to scrape, copy, or monitor the Site; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of it; introduce malicious code; impersonate us or anyone else; or use the Site to send unsolicited commercial messages. We may restrict or end access to the Site for anyone who violates these Terms.

Linking

You may link to our homepage, provided you do not suggest that we endorse or are affiliated with you and do not frame or embed our pages. Links from the Site to other websites are provided for convenience; we do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.

Information, not advice

The information on the Site is for general educational and informational purposes. It is not professional, medical, psychological, legal, financial, or tax advice, and it is not a substitute for working with an appropriate professional. See our Disclaimer, which is part of these Terms.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that the Site will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or free of errors or harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Expansion Lab and its members, managers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Site, however caused and under any theory of liability, even if we were advised of the possibility. Our total liability for any claim related to the Site will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Expansion Lab and the people who work with us from any claims, damages, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction. At our election, we may instead require that a dispute be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its rules, in Orange County, California. Any claim must be brought within one year after it arises or it is barred.

General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date; your continued use of the Site after that is acceptance of the change.
